neillen 1

The sad news at Thorolds Legal and Antiquarian Booksellers is that the owner and Managing Director, Neillen van Kraayenburg, suddenly and totally unexpectedly passed away on Sunday 18 October 2015 after having suffered a heart attack.  We dearly regret his death and mourn over this great loss.  We remain grateful for the good relationships and professional friendships which you have constantly maintained with him.

The goods news is that Thorolds Bookshop will continue with business as usual.  Further, our operational personnel remain unchanged, and we are maintaining and upholding our present and future commitments.  In addition, we will endeavour to fulfill Neillen’s dream of furthering Thorolds, both within South Africa and abroad.

With the assistance and support of the staff and shareholders, Kim Shuttle will be acting in capacity of Managing Director and will assume all of Neillen’s duties with immediate effect.  Please feel free to contact Kim on or mobile number 082 551 5318 at any time, with any queries which you may have.

For all your legal requirements, please contact our offices on Tel 082 551 5318  e-mail:

We wish to thank you for your continued support.
